We are a solely separate entity that was started to offer help to fellow citizens who wish to use the Center.  We are not under the umbrella of the administration staff or the East Lyme Board of Education.

To provide assistance to residents of East Lyme and Salem financial assistance to use the East Lyme Aquatic and Fitness Center.

Located at the East Lyme High School with parking behind the football field/track bleachers. Although the school’s address is 30 Chesterfield Rd, East Lyme, CT, entry from Route 1 is the easiest approach to this parking lot.

Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded on a need basis which is demonstrated with documentation at the time of application. Documentation can be SNAP assistance, 1040 Tax form, etc. If you are not certain that you meet the need requirement, we encourage you to apply.

Yes.  Although receiving a scholarship does not guarantee subsequent approval of another scholarship.

The Foundation will contact you via email and then will make the funds available with the pool manager.  The arrangements to use the funds should be made by you and the pool manager.  Signing up for the children’s lessons will work through their registration system.

Pool programs: swim lessons, lifeguard classes, aquafit class, membership for lap swim or family open swim. Fitness Center: memberships. Other programs as they become available may also be considered.

Residents of East Lyme (Flanders and Niantic) and Salem. Individuals or families may apply.

Donation

Absolutely! We accept donations by credit card, check and Venmo. Donations over $100 can also be done by direct withdrawal (ACH) from your bank account. Thank you for your generosity.

Yes.

We are a 501 (c) (3) organization. So, donations are eligible for tax deduction according to IRS rules and your personal filing situation. Please seek advice from a tax professional for more specific information.

All electronic transactions will show up under “GiveButter”. GiveButter is a site that assists not-for-profit organizations such as our foundation collect funds electronically while still complying with all of the Federal and banking laws and protocols required.

Nearly 100% goes towards scholarships. If you give using a credit card, you help lower the foundation’s costs if you agree to pay the credit card transaction fees for us. Other than that we spend a few dollars each year on this website.
